Nancy Sciara received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida and worked for over 25 years in high-risk Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her Master’s Degree in Parent-Child Nursing from the University of Tennessee in 1990. Since receiving her certification as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse Practitioner, she has worked as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist and an OBGYN Nurse Pracitioner for over 20 years. She has worked in St. Louis, Missouri and Boone, North Carolina and has been at Piedmont OBGYN since 1998. She resides in Blowing Rock with her husband and two children.
She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health in Obstetric and Neonatal nursing. She holds certification in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing along with her certification as OBGYN Nurse Practitioner from AWHONN.
Her special interests include: yearly physicals and pap smears; education, screening, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; birth control counseling; preconceptual counseling; prenatal care; menopausal management; screening and treatment of osteoporosis; adolescent care and first visits.
